For the past two years, with a view to improving our environmental impact, we have begun to address the issue of plastic shavings generated when cutting profiles to length.
Whenever possible, we replace sawing with guillotine cutting, which does not generate any chips, and for tubes, we use rotary knife cutting.
To date, we have seen a reduction of more than 50% in these chips. In addition, by June 2019, we will take delivery of a new guillotine cutter, which will enable us to significantly reduce these chips even further.
In addition to reducing our environmental impact, we have also noticed a real improvement in terms of auditory comfort for our employees, as guillotine cutters and rotating knives produce very little noise.
Finally, in certain cases, guillotine blade cutting produces a more visually appealing cut, which better satisfies our customers.
